Landscaping Crew Supervisor: Goodling Solar Array Workforce Development Project

The Verde Builds Team project manages community solar projects and heat pump installations for people with low-income. The Verde Builds Team is seeking qualified proposals from experienced landscaping professionals to serve as a Landscaping Crew Supervisor for a unique community-based workforce development initiative in partnership with Dignity Village, an intentional community of otherwise houseless people located in North Portland. This work is tied to Verde’s stewardship of the Goodling Solar Array Project, a 3.5-acre site requiring ongoing landscape maintenance, reseeding, replanting, and seasonal landscaping care.  

The site has nine large beds. Each garden bed has been planted with small trees, bushes, and mulched. The 3 acred site is otherwise surrounded by grass. Each garden bed requires weeding, the installation of a weed barrier and additional mulch, removal of grass around the beds and planting of clover, replanting when bushes/trees die.  We hope to eventually replace all the grass with clover. Until that time the grass must be maintained under 6 inches in height.
