Training

Verde Landscape and Verde Energy make deep investments in each Crew Member through a sequenced training program that prepares each Crew Member for success in a future role as small business owner, supervisor at a for-profit business, or the experienced Crew Leader who trains and supervises the next group of Crew Members.  Verde pays all costs for Crew Members’ training and licensing, including wages for time spent in training.

Each Crew Member's training is based on an Individual Learning Plan.  A Crew Member works with his/her Program Manager and other project partners to develop his/her Individual Learning Plan, typically 6 months after date of hire for regular employment.  Participation in training and development of an Individual Learning Plan are considered "Essential Functions" in each Crew Member's job description.  If you want to be a regular employee at a Verde social enterprise - receiving wage increases, health benefits, and asset-building opportunities - you have to participate in training.
