Partner with Verde
Verde is an Oregon nonprofit corporation, recognized as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS. Foundations can award grants Verde, just like they can with other tax-exempt organizations. Individuals can donate money or equipment money to Verde, and receive the same potential tax deductions, just like they can when they donate to other tax-exempt organizations like Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity, or Hacienda CDC.
The Verde Native Plant Nursery project is a social enterprise. This means the project generates revenue in part by selling materials and services, doing so in a manner consistent with Verde's mission. These revenues are called Earned Income. Nonprofit organizations develop social enterprises as a way to serve their communities and mission, also to reduce dependence grants and public subsidies. Other Portland-area social enterprises include Goodwill, Portland Habilitation Center and Central City Concern.
Hire Verde
to provide Removal of Invasive Plant Species services, Native Plant Installation services, or Native Plant Maintenance services.
Project Partnerships
Verde works with watershed councils, Friends groups, and other environmental groups to develop and submit funding proposals for streamside revegetation, wetland restoration, and stormwater management projects. Nursery crew members will review your proposed scope of work, visit your site, and develop an estimate that you can use in your grant application budget so you and the funder can be confident that the budget accurately reflects the cost of doing the proposed work. We can also contribute language to your grant application, highlighting for the funder the economic and social benefits a Verde partnership brings to your environmental project.
