Verde's Board of DirectorsVerde has a 6-member Board of Directors. David Harmon, Co-Chair. David Harmon brings commercial lending experience to Verde, including 4 years at Shorebank Pacific, a unique financial institution with a mission to invest in people and their communities to create economic equity and a healthy environment. He serves as the Board's point person for financial management. Peter Finley Fry, Treasurer. Peter Fry is a land-use planner in private practice, experienced in Portland-area land use decision-making and processes. He serves as the Board's point person for Nursery site issues. Mark Wilson, Co-Chair. Mark Wilson is a Restoration Ecologist, specializing in the planning, design, and implementation of ecological restoration projects in the Pacific Northwest. He is also an educator, serving as an adjunct faculty member at area colleges. He serves as the Board's point person for training issues. Maria Rojo de Steffey. Maria Rojo de Steffey is Multnomah County Commissioner for District 1. In addition to her organizational management experience and political leadership, she is a regional leader in sustainable development and the Latino community. Maria Gastelun is a resident of the Cully Neighborhood, and has lived in Hacienda CDC housing for 13 years. She is active in Vecinos en Alerta, a resident-lead group concerned with safety and other community issues. She serves as the Board's point person on community outreach and education activities. Brenda Reyes is a resident of the Cully Neighborhood, and has lived in Hacienda CDC housing for 9 years. Her interests include economic development and youth, as well as Verde's financial operation.
