| 2 New Grants Awarded: Spirit Mountain, and Partners in Conservation |

June 17, 2010. Good resources for good work. Verde is please to announce we have been awarded the following grants: 1. Spirit Mountain Community Fund. A 1-year, $15,000 award for Verde Energy, this grant supports Verde Energy's start-up and Year 1 operating costs, allowing us to hire 4 low-income people and put them to work weatherizing single family homes. A 1-year, $35,300 award for Verde Landscape, Verde Nursery, and Verde Outreach-Grass Roots. This grant helps us construct a new bioswale to slow and filter runoff from Nursery's Outdoor Production Facility, construct a drip irrigation system, and involve students from NAYA's Early College Academy in bioswale planning and construction.
