On January 13, 2010, the US Department of Labor awarded a 2 year, $4 million Local Pathways Out of Poverty grant to Worksystems, Inc on behalf of the Green Career Pathways: Community for Equity, a partnership of community based organizations, trainers, organized labor, employers and the workforce system that has come together to deliver green jobs and job training to some of Portland's most economically disadvantaged communities.

These grants were highly competitive; only 30 Local Pathways grants were awarded nationwide.  This grant is a testament to hard work by many, and to the needs and opportunities facing our communities.  Verde is honored to play our part in this effort.
