Verde Energy Feasibility Study Completed PDF Print E-mail

Verde and the Native American Youth & Family Center have completed the Verde Energy Feasibility Study. The Study was funded by grants from the Audubon Society's Together Green Fellowship and the NW Health Foundation’s Kaiser Permanente Community Fund. It is available for download here.

This Feasibility Study analyzes Verde’s proposal to establish and operate Verde Energy to provide weatherization labor and weatherization services for single family homes and multi-family apartments. Verde Energy would offer these services to for-profit weatherization contractors, single family homeowners, affordable housing providers, and other property owners.

Verde and the Native American Youth and Family Center propose creating a new social enterprise, Verde Energy, to hire low-income Latinos and Native Americans to provide residential and commercial weatherization services. Because of significant public and private investments in weatherization training and projects, Verde Energy will be able to: Hire and put to work a significant number (20+) of low-income people; and Support employees to start their own small businesses.
