The mission of Verde is to improve the economic health of disadvantaged communities by creating environmental job training, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities, fostering the connection between economic vitality and environmental protection and restoration.

Our goal is to connect low-income people and people of color with the economic benefits of protecting the environment. Verde pursues its goal through Social Enterprise and through Outreach.

Verde is a tax-exempt nonprofit group. Foundations can award grants Verde, just like they can with other tax-exempt groups. Individuals and businesses can donate money or equipment to Verde and receive a possible tax deduction, just like they can when they donate to other tax-exempt groups like a church, the Oregon Food Bank, or Goodwill.
